What is LimeWire?

Disadvantages of LimeWire

• LimeWire can sometimes take a long time to load because it is a Java application.  Some LimeWire users also encounter the problem that they need to be connected to LimeWire for an extended period of time before the connection speed is favorable.   Therefore, once LimeWire has been loaded and running for some time, it will function fast and trouble-free. 
• There is no virus scan built into LimeWire.  Therefore, viruses can be downloaded while file sharing through LimeWire.  LimeWire suggests combating this problem by being aware of what you are downloading, avoiding .exe and .vbs files, and running a virus-scanner regularly after you download new files through LimeWire.
