Tweaks - How to Speed Up Your Network Browsing

What are Tweaks?

Tweaks refer to the small changes that can be made to your PC to improve its performance level.  When your computer seems to be operating slower than usual, it may be a small problem that a simple tweaking process can remedy.  Changing a simple setting with a few clicks of your mouse could get you faster Internet browsing.

When to Tweak your PC

When you are experiencing problems with your computer’s speed and efficiency, a number of things could be the root of the problem.  However, many times a simple tweak could do the trick to solve the problem.  If you are experiencing any of these problems, then tweaking could be the solution:

  • Reduced downloading speed
  • An upload speed that exceeds the download speed
  • Skipping in TCP streaming (either video or audio)
  • Empty Web pages
  • Connection issues

If you are experiencing more serious problems with your computer or if your computer does not respond positively to tweaking, it is important that you get to the bottom of the situation and fix the problem before something major occurs.

We always caution against performing any tweaks to your computer or operating system if you are not comfortable or confident doing so.

How to Tweak Your PC

The first step in tweaking your PC is to find out if it is configured for a broadband Internet connection.  In order to take complete advantage of the benefits of your broadband Internet speed, you may just need to modify the settings on your computer.  These modifications, or tweaks, could be as simple as a few clicks of the mouse.  However simple these changes may be, they often make a huge difference in the operation of your PC.

The Results of Tweaking

Tweaking your computer can result in faster browsing and functioning of your PC.  Tweaks can also increase bandwidth, therefore resulting in higher levels of speed and efficiency overall.
