Business T1 Internet Service

When it comes to business Internet service, T1 connections can be vital to a company’s success.  Carrying 60 times more data than a standard residential modem, T1 fiber optic lines gives businesses the bandwidth, reliability, and flexibility they need to compete in today’s marketplace.

T1 Connections for Business Use

T1 lines stand apart from dial-up, DSL, or cable Internet connections in a number of ways:

·    T1 lines can be used for a company’s VoIP telephone lines

·    T1 lines can be connected to a company’s network router and used to carry data for high-speed Internet access

·    T1 lines allow businesses a static IP address for company websites --an important component of conducting business online

·    T1 lines let hundreds of people browse a company’s website without slowdowns

T1 Lines – Superior to DSL and Cable Modems

When it comes to the best options for a company’s money, T1 lines offer many benefits over most DSL and cable modem features. This includes the fact that T1 lines work on dedicated bandwidth which means that Internet access will never be slowed by sharing line usage with other users. And unlike DSL and cable modem connections, T1 lines are not distance-sensitive so companies can rely on a steady, guaranteed data flow 24/7.

T1 service providers also provide extensive services to their business customers. Most are available in any market via nationwide networks and offer full technical support, professional installation, optional managed firewall services, remote user VPN, and email and Web hosting options.

Different Types of T1 Service

Complete T1 lines contain 24 digital channels, each providing 64 kbps. Depending on an individual company’s needs, a business can lease a complete T1 line or it may choose to lease fractional T1 service. Fractional T1 services provides less bandwidth – but usually plenty for small business use – and costs less money.  Generally, companies can lease fractional T1 lines in increments of 56 kbps.

When signing up for T1 service, businesses can also choose from different data speeds and pricing packages.  Low end packages usually begin with 768 Mbps download and upload speeds, and then data speeds increase incrementally to 1.5 Mbps, 3.0 Mbps, 4.5 Mbps, and 6.0 Mbps which are available for higher costs. The faster the speed the more you’ll pay for the service.  Pricing generally runs from $500 to $1,500 per month depending on the T1 service provider and includes the cost for connection to a Web server, phone company, and ISP fees.
