Cox Child Safety Suite - Internet Safety for Kids

Cox is concerned about the safety of your children and your computers while on the Internet, which is why it provides the Cox Security Suite free-of-charge to all Cox high speed Internet customers.  The Cox Security Suite offers customers anti-virus, anti-spyware, parental controls, pop-up blockers, spam blockers, and firewall protection in the form of downloadable software to make it easy to obtain and implement protection on your computer or computers. 

Parental Controls

There are many dangers on the Internet today, especially targeted towards children.  We can never be too careful in combating these threats, which is why Cox is now offering free parental controls to all of their Internet customers as part of the Cox Security Suite.  These parental controls offer parents the opportunity to customize the level of filtering to implement on their computer.  

Block access to certain Web sites so that your children cannot enter them, set up passwords to ensure that they cannot be changed by anyone except authorized users, and monitor what your child is researching on the Internet. 

Additionally, Cox stresses the importance of education of safety issues on the Internet.  “Take Charge!” is the name of the campaign that Cox has begun, emphasizing the importance of educating parents and children of Internet dangers.  On their Web site, they offer tips on how to protect children from Internet threats, education sites to inform parents of the latest Internet risks, and a subscription to a free Internet safety newsletter to keep you up-to-date and informed on the latest Internet dangers and solutions.
