Road Runner Video Mail

What is Video Mail?

Video mail involves e-mail messages containing video files, whether they are incorporated in the body of the e-mail or as a link.  The purpose of this type of message is to avoid problems that can occur when videos are sent as e-mail attachments.  Because video files are typically too large to send in an e-mail attachment, and because many people do not open attachments for safety purposes, video mail, sent through the body or through a link, is the better option.

One example of a way to create the type of video mail that is incorporated into e-mail messages is with Videogram, which allows you to use already-recorded messages and load them into e-mail messages.  VMdirect is an example of a video mail message sent through a link.  With VMdirect, you are required to record a message and upload it for the receiver to view online.

Road Runner Video Mail

Road Runner has caught onto the great qualities of video mail.  They understand that often friends and family are sometimes far away and video mail is a great way for them to see one another.  With Roadrunner video mail, you can send videos, personalized greeting cards, and slide shows to everyone and anyone.  The best part about Road Runner video mail is that the software is free to Roadrunner customers.  All you need is a computer and a webcam, and you are ready to start sending video mail.

Roadrunner allows customers to choose from three types of video mail.  If you are looking to send a simple video message, you will want to send a basic video mail.

To send customized greeting cards, you can use one of the templates available and record a message to go with it - this one is called the greeting card video mail.  The story teller video mail allows you to create a slideshow out of digital photos and record your voice to narrate.  You can even record a video intro to your slideshow!
