HBO’s New Drama Series from Comcast

Have you discovered HBO’s new drama series? You’ll want to check out Hung, which follows the life of a former high school sports legend. The episodes feature his not-so-perfect life as a middle-aged, divorced, high school basketball coach with financial challenges -- but he has plans to change things for the better.

A very interesting series focuses on Precious Ramotswe – a native of Botswana who has opened her country’s first female-owned detective agency. Shot on location in Botswana, Ramotswe investigates a variety of intriguing cases and personifies the real-life struggle of Africans trying to make a better life for themselves.

Comcast Features New HBO Comedy Series 

Comcast subscribers can also enjoy new comedy offerings from HBO.  In Eastbound & Down, the latest project from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, you’ll follow the career of former relief pitcher Kenny Powers (Danny McBride), whose fading talents and insufferable personality ended his Big League career and brought him to a job as a substitute gym teacher. 

And Chris Lilley fans will love Summer Heights High, a mockumentary-style comedy series. In the show, Lilley portrays all three main characters: Jonah, a student with more than his share of unique problems; Mr. G, a teacher who brings his own special magic to the performing arts department; and Ja’mie, a young lady of privilege and private schools who has opted to attend Summer Heights High School to learn about less fortunate students.

HBO fans continue to relish weekly airings of Real Time with Bill Maher which showcases Maher’s irreverent perspective and opinionated guests to discuss the political scene. And comedy fans can still enjoy hilarious episodes of Curb Your Enthusiam starring Larry David. If you haven’t discovered the HBO comedy Flight of the Conchords, featuring New Zealand musicians Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, their manager Murray (Rhys Darby), and number one – and possibly only – true fan, Mel (Kristen Schaal) – the show is comedy at its best.
