The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency follows the adventures of Precious Ramotswe as she opens and operates the only female-owned detective agency in her native Botswana. Precious investigates intriguing cases that personify the real-life struggle of the Botswana people as they try to improve their lives. Grammy-winning R&B singer/songwriter Jill Scott plays Precious.

Hung, another new HBO drama series on Cox Cable follows the struggles of Ray Decker, a former high school sports legend whose life is not working out the way he planned. Played by Thomas Jane, Ray is now a middle-aged, broke, divorced, high school basketball coach struggling to take care of his kids and make ends meet. Hung mixes drama and dark humor as Ray figures out how to change his life.

In need of a good laugh? Try some of HBO’s new comedy series.

Comedian Chris Lilley brings his piercing humor to Summer Heights High, a mockumentary-style high school series. A huge hit with Aussie audiences, HBO is now offering the series to Cox Cable customers. Lilley plays all three main characters: Mr. G., a sincere teacher trying to bring his magic to the performing arts department; Ja’mie, who has grown up in a world of privilege and private schools but now attends Summer Heights High School to learn about students who are less fortunate than herself; and Jonah, the kind of student that drives teachers out of the profession.

Another new HBO comedy is the latest project from Will Ferrell. Eastbound & Down stars Danny McBride as Kenny Powers. Once a Big League relief pitcher, Powers found himself out of professional baseball when his talent faded and all that remained was his obnoxious personality. Now a substitute gym teacher, he’s making the best of his new career.
