Halo 2 Makes Broadband Gaming
Admittedly, I’ve been gaming fan for years. Admittedly, I’ve been
known to get “addicted” to certain choice games from time to time. And,
admittedly, I’ve added the Xbox’s Halo 2 to the ranks of those choice
games and if you gave it half a chance this game would dig its little
controllers into your palms too. It’s games like this that make
broadband gaming an ever-growing past time.
Halo 2
For those of you who don’t know, Halo 2 is what is referred to as a
first-person shooter game. (The point of view is from the eyes of a
character.) Basically this means your broadband gaming experience will
consist of running around virtual worlds blowing things up – and yes,
it’s as fun (if not more) as it sounds. Halo 2 has won numerous awards
including Best Online Multiplayer Game at the E3 2004 Critics Awards
and has raised the standard for broadband games on Xbox Live.
Xbox Live
Xbox Live is an online broadband gaming community with roughly a million subscribers in 24 countries. With Xbox Live
all you need to do to play games with friends across the country is
plug it in and log on. Features like Gamertag (a persistent identity
across all games), downloadable features for your favorite games and
real-time verbal communication via headset Xbox Live is truly a broadband gamers’ haven. With Xbox Live
the Halo 2 experience is intense with game modes such capture the flag
and team slayer (teams fight to see who gets the most kills) supporting
with up to 16 players per match! Broadband gaming with Halo 2 also
features a ranking system that places players on similar skill levels
in matches together, maximizing your playing experience.
Requirements for Playing Halo 2
There are a few things required to enjoy Halo 2 broadband games. For
starters, you must have an Xbox and a copy of Halo 2. (Hey, I know
that’s a big DUH, but there’s always one in every group.) I suppose a
friend who can tolerate your presence for hours at a time, and possibly
multiple days a week, would work too. Aside from those things, all you
need is lust for good broadband gaming or a willingness to give
something new a try. Oh, and of course if you’re going to be playing a
broadband game you’ll need a speedy broadband connection to enjoy Xbox Live.
Honestly I don’t really know much about the story of Halo 2, just a
few nuggets of information that slipped out of my little cousin’s mouth
while playing, but storylines don’t tend to be what broadband gaming is
all about. Broadband games are about gadgets, guns, trash-talking and speed, speed, SPEED. While playing on Xbox Live
there’s really no greater advantage than a fast connection, sometimes
it’s even a greater advantage than skill. I know I hate lagging (when
the game freezes or slows down) in the middle of an intense fight – it
can cost you the game; and if it can, it usually will. I’m sure that
the storyline is very involved with aliens, super-soldiers, plot twists
and such, but I prefer the high-paced action of broadband gaming.

FIFA 2005 Xbox Live Game Review |
|
Xbox Game Review
Sports video games are some of the best sellers for game producers
due to the fact that they tap into two incredibly popular industries:
gaming and sports. Due to the fact that sports games are more or less
removed from a plot or story of any kind, there is no end to their
production value. Every year brings new players, new uniforms, new
teams, new stadiums and new reasons to produce another version of the
game.
Affording players more control over what happens on the pitch than
any other soccer video game ever released; FIFA 2005 for Xbox reflects
just how far the video game industry has come over the last 10 years.
The graphics are incredibly detailed from the emblem on a player’s
jersey, to the fans cheering in the stadium. The stadium graphics
themselves add to the playing experience and give you the feel of the
real deal.
The sounds associated with FIFA 2005 make you feel like you are a
part of the game. A soundtrack of 40+ popular songs makes menu
navigation a delight, and the roar of the crowd, along with the unique
and customized songs they sing make for the ultimate soccer video game
experience.
FIFA 2005 Game Play Review
FIFA 2005 is all about the “first-touch.” Looking to give players as
much control over on-field actions as possible, the first-touch feature
includes trapping, flicking, or solidly passing the ball with ease.
Experience even more control over players off the ball by sending
players on runs, jostling for space, or calling for extra defensive
help. Enter the Creation Zone where you can customize/edit players, or
create your own. Participate in a deeper career mode that takes
everything regarding running a professional soccer team into
consideration.
All in all, FIFA 2005 for Xbox provides soccer fans with the
ultimate gaming experience. Even if you’re not a fan of soccer, but you
are an avid gamer, you can truly appreciate the depth and
controllability of FIFA 2005 for Xbox.
One of the best features associated with FIFA 2005 is its
compatibility with Xbox Live, allowing Xbox owners with a broadband
connection to connect to an online network and play FIFA 2005 against
players all over the world.
Although there is a little bit of lag in relation to the respective
connections and the number of people playing over a given connection
line, FIFA’s online mode alone makes the game worth buying.
FIFA 2005 Xbox Live Review
Due to the fact that FIFA 2005 is the first in the series to offer
online play, there are a few minor problems that affect the overall
quality of play.
- Broadband Connection Speeds: In order for the game play to be as
smooth as possible, you want to find someone who has a capable
broadband connection. This process is somewhat convoluted and should be
simplified.
- Friends’ List: You are unable to check your friends’ list and
determine who is online and what it is they are playing. This can
create a great deal of frustration.
Based on various reviews, you can expect this problem to be resolved by the time FIFA 2006 is introduced for Xbox 360.

Win Big with Bicycle Casino for Xbox When You Game Online with a Broadband Internet Connection |
|
Over
the last couple of years, the gambling industry has seen a boom through
the increasing popularity of No-Limit Texas Hold’em. Made popular
through ESPN’s World Series of Poker coverage, No-Limit Texas Hold’em
has made its way into homes and casinos across the globe.
Hoping to capitalize on the surge in popularity, various game makers
have thrown their hats into the ring with various types of casino
gaming products. One such game, Bicycle Casino, is Xbox’s addition to
the field, and easily one of the best.
Types of Casino Games in Bicycle Casino for Xbox
Bicycle Casino is the first game of its kind available for Xbox game
system owners. With over 500 different games to choose from, Bicycle
Casino is more than simply a venue to satisfy your No-Limit Texas
Hold’em cravings. The various types of casino games available for your
pleasure include (but are not limited to):
- Texas Hold’em
- Keno
- Blackjack
- Roulette
- Craps
- Slots
Bicycle Casino Game Features
When you play Bicycle Casino for Xbox, you are learning the games as
you play. The casino experience can be somewhat overwhelming for some
because they don’t know how to play the games and don’t feel
comfortable asking for help, or risking making a mistake. Bicycle
Casino for Xbox allows players to take advantage of the hints and
strategy section for all games. This allows you to learn the ins and
outs of the various casino games as you’re playing them. In this
regard, Xbox’s Bicycle Casino is an excellent teaching aid.
Character customization allows you to literally create your own
poker face at the table, dressing your character, adding accessories
such as sunglasses or hats, and watching them reel in pain over a tough
beat or celebrate victoriously after raking a large pot. The character
customization available for Xbox’s Bicycle Casino takes on an even
larger role when it comes to online play.
Bicycle Casino Xbox Live Review: Gaming Online with Broadband Internet Access
Bicycle Casino is a part of the Xbox Live family, meaning that Xbox
Live subscribers can log on to the Xbox Live Network and play the
various games available online. This is an incredibly important feature
due to the fact that there is only so much experience that you can gain
from playing casino games in an artificial environment. Virtual players
are instilled with the very best in gaming knowledge, however gambling
is a largely situational activity, and there are only so many different
strategies that an artificial opponent can take. For this reason, those
looking for the very best casino gaming atmosphere should consider subscribing to Xbox Live so that they may experience Bicycle Casino to the fullest of its capabilities.
In order to operate an Xbox Live subscription, you are required to own a broadband connection
of some type. This could be DSL, digital cable, wireless broadband,
etc. High latency dictates that you operate the highest speed
connection possible in order to play online without interruption or
lag. (index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=94&Itemid=151)
