Comedy Central Launches Five Broadband Only Channels |
Beginning on November 1st, Comedy Central will begin broadcasting Motherload for broadband Internet users. Motherload is Comedy Central’s new broadband TV network, where they will be broadcasting various clips of their shows on the Internet for viewers to enjoy on-demand. What Will Be Broadcasted on Motherload?Five channels are being launched through Motherload, including Originals, TV Shows, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Comedians, and Cult Classics. These channels will be broadcastings of past and current Comedy Central shows, as well as original creations produced exclusively for Motherload. Clips ranging from 15 seconds to several minutes in length will be broadcasted to entertain viewers. Fewer restrictions apply to the Internet and programming can be less traditional and much more open. Comedy Central is said to broadcast their more experimental programs on Motherload to try them out and see if viewers enjoy them before putting them on the air. How Does Motherload Work?Motherload allows its viewers to pick and choose their programming on their own schedule. Viewers can watch Motherload on-demand. The Web site will offer 450 video clips to start with. Each week, they will add 50-80 new clips to make sure fresh content is added. Viewers can also search through Motherload’s archived video clips and form play lists of their favorite content to watch whenever they want. Greg Giraldo is Motheload’s host. As soon as you enter the site, Greg will begin speaking to you and cluing you in on what Motherload has to offer and what’s new on the site for the day. To pay for the production and launch of Motherload, Verizon Broadband is spearheading the Motherload launch as their primary advertiser. Verizon will be on banners and in 15 and 30 second commercials throughout Motherload’s programming. A lot of interest has made in various other prospective advertisers for the future of Motherload. |
