Charter Communications to Add FSN and Other HD Channels in Wisconsin |

July 30, 2008 Charter Communications, the third largest cable company in the U.S., announced plans to add six new high-definition (HD) channels in its Northeast Wisconsin markets on August 20. The new HD channels are Fox Sports Net (FSN) Wisconsin, Animal Planet HD, Smithsonian Channel HD, TBS HD, The Movie Channel HD and an HD VOD channel. The additions will increase Charter's HD channel lineup in Northeast Wisconsin to 23 channels. FSN Wisconsin Features Brewers Games in HDFSN Wisconsin expanded its HD Milwaukee Brewers game coverage from 17 broadcasts last year to 65 games this season. Of those, 11 HD game broadcasts will be seen on Charter Cable after August 20. Smithsonian Channel Signed Carriage Agreement with Charter Earlier This YearThe Smithsonian Channel signed a deal with Charter Communications earlier this year to add Smithsonian HD programs as well as "Smithsonian On Demand" to the cable operator's HD offerings. These will also be available to Charter's Wisconsin markets in August. The Smithsonian Channel showcases the Institution's extensive resources of collections, exhibitions, archives, and cultural expertise.
