Mediacom Communications Announces 20 Mbps High-Speed Internet Service |

May 19, 2008 Mediacom Communications Corporation announced plans to upgrade the maximum download speeds of its Mediacom Online MAX internet service to 20 Mbps. Maximum upload speeds will be increased to 2 Mbps. The upgrade is scheduled to go into effect by the end of June at no additional cost to the company's customers. 20 Mbps High-Speed Internet Service Available to all Mediacom CustomersMediacom Communications is the eighth largest cable television company in the U.S. providing a wide variety of broadband services including digital television, video-on-demand, digital video recorders, high-definition television, traditional video, high-speed Internet access, and phone service. The Mediacom Online MAX high-speed Internet upgrade will be offered throughout its 23-state market area and will include many smaller cities and towns in rural areas that are often overlooked for premiere Internet products and services. Download Movies at 20 Mbps with Mediacom Online Max ServiceAt up to 20 Mbps, Mediacom Online MAX will provide the fastest speeds currently available to customers who download movies, exchange high-resolution photos, and stream videos. The service also includes free online content optimized for super high-speed downloads with access to more than 100 premium games, The Disney Connection, Fox Sports, ESPN 360, Clever Island for children's activities, and the full Encyclopedia Britannica. Mediacom Offers Four High-Speed Internet PackagesMediacom Communications offers its customers four levels of Internet service: Intro service at 3 Mbps download speed, Flagship service at 8 Mbps, VIP service for Triple Play customers at 10 Mbps, and the upgraded MAX service at 20 Mbps. Prices range from $19.95 to $59.95 per month. |
