Mediacom Signs Carriage Deal with Big Ten Network

September 4, 2008

By Nora Gray

As the Big Ten Conference college football season gets started, Mediacom and the Big Ten Network announced they have reached an agreement for Mediacom to add the Big Ten Network to its channel lineup.

Mediacom said it will begin launching the Big Ten Network programming in phases on its expanded basic service level in states that are home to Big Ten Conference universities. The company added that customers will be notified as the Big Ten Network becomes available in their communities. In addition to hundreds of live games, Mediacom customers will have access to the Big Ten Network's high-definition (HD) and video-on-demand (VOD) collegiate sports coverage.

Network Dedicated to Big Ten Conference Sports Coverage

The Big Ten Network is the first national network dedicated to covering one of the premier collegiate conferences in the country. With more than 400 live events, nearly all available in HD, the network allows Big Ten fans across the country to see their favorite team, regardless of where they live. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Big Ten Network showcases a wide array of classic-to-current sports, original programming, women's sports, and Olympic sporting events.
