Mediacom to Feature Olympics Coverage

August 14, 2008

Through an agreement with NBC Universal (NBCU), Mediacom is offering its customers access to thousands of hours of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games coverage across multiple platforms from traditional cable to video-on-demand, high-definition television, and high-speed Internet.

Mediacom Customers Choose What, When, and How to Watch the Olympic Games

"The bar has been raised in a significant way this year, and we're proud to use Mediacom's fiber-optic broadband network to give our customers multi-platform access to the Summer Olympics," said John Pascarelli, Mediacom's executive vice president of operations. "The biggest change for these Olympics isn't just that our customers have the opportunity to see much more content; it's their ability to choose what, when, and how they watch the Games."

Mediacom Has Thousands of Hours of Olympics Coverage on Multiple Platforms

While offerings may vary by systems, Mediacom's channel line-ups generally include all seven NBCU networks - NBC, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Telemundo, and Universal HD, and high-definition reception is offered for NBC and USA Network as part of HDTV Family Cable. In addition to the more than 1,200 total hours of Olympics coverage on those networks, NBCU's enhanced content offerings will allow Mediacom customers to watch the games through services including video-on-demand, high-definition television, and high-speed Internet.

Mediacom High-Definition TV, Video-on-Demand, and High-Speed Internet

Mediacom services include the following features:

High-Definition Television: Mediacom High-Definition customers will have access to more than 800 hours of Olympic HD coverage on NBC HD, Universal HD, and USA HD.

Video On Demand: Mediacom Digital Cable customers will have access to 60 clips focusing on the emotion and excitement of the Games including categories such as Beijing 411, Meet the Athletes, and Team USA Preview. The In-Games package will contain the best events each day. Content will include overall daily highlights by sport (approximately 15 per day, some in HD), and "Rewind," approximately 5 to 10 of the best sessions/games per day.

High-Speed Internet - Mediacom Online customers may use their Internet connection to access NBCU's 2,200 hours of coverage of 25 events streamed live, plus full-event video replays, extensive highlights, including daily recaps of key events, best-of montages, commentator analysis, and athlete-specific clips each day, all available on NBCOlympics.com via a link from Mediacomtoday.com.
