May 19, 2008 Blue Ridge Communications and RCN Corp. have selected InGrid Home Security to deliver home security services which utilize broadband for continuous 24/7 monitoring via the Internet, mobile phones, or PDAs. The service will be available to Blue Ridge high speed Internet and triple play customers in Pennsylvania and in the Poconos area. RCN Corp. will offer the service as a six-month trial to its new and existing customers in the Chicago and Philadelphia areas. How InGrid Home Security WorksThe InGrid broadband service can be installed by customers themselves and will maintain constant communication through a two-way broadband connection to InGrid's servers and professional monitoring center for emergency dispatch. InGrid's unique all-digital, wireless design not only offers reliable home protection through multiple redundancies, it gives customers the ability to control their home's system remotely and receive emergency and non-emergency notifications on any Internet-connected device including cell phones. As an added benefit, customers will also be able to access up-to-the-minute weather forecasts. Each InGrid system has built-in redundancies and is monitored 24/7 with professional response from Guardian Protection Services, the world's largest privately held security company. As a result, InGrid is expected to prove more reliable when compared to most traditional analog home security systems.
