T-Mobile to Launch Wireless Home Phone Service

June 30, 2008

T-Mobile announced it will roll out a new service beginning July 2 which allows customers to make unlimited nationwide calls from their home phones for $10 per month while keeping their home phone number.

T-Mobile Offers Home Phone Service for $10 per Month

T-Mobile customers can add T-Mobile @Home service to a qualifying T-Mobile wireless plan2 and get unlimited nationwide long-distance calling, plus call waiting, caller ID, three-way conferencing, voicemail, call forwarding, and other features.

With approximately one in six households dropping their landline phones completely, the new T-Mobile service targets consumers who want to keep their landlines but would like to pay less than the average $65 per month for traditional home phone service.

T-Mobile@Home Service Includes Special Features

Robert Dotson, president and CEO of T-Mobile USA said, "T-Mobile is not only delivering the traditional features of a landline service, we are also including innovative features found in mobile phones."

In addition to regular landline options, T-Mobile@Home service customers will have the opportunity to use features typically associated with wireless services - such as CallerTunes (ringback tones) - and port their existing home phone number so family and friends can continue to call them at the same familiar number.

New T-Mobile Home Phone Service Requirements

To use the service, customers need the touch-tone corded or cordless phone they currently use, an existing broadband Internet connection, and the T-Mobile @Home HiPort Wireless Router with Home Phone Connection, available from T-Mobile for $49.99 with a two-year service agreement. Applicable taxes and fees will apply and vary from state to state.
