Verizon Offers Bundling Discounts to Customers Without Landlines |

June 23, 2008 Verizon has announced it will be giving discounts to its wireless customers who only use cell phones and do not have a landline phone. Customers will be able to receive the discount when they bundle their cell phone service with Verizon Internet or television service. Verizon's Flex Double Play Offers Savings to CustomersVerizon will launch its Flex Double Play bundle with discounts ranging from $8 to $21 per month for customers combining a Verizon wireless plan with the company's broadband or FiOS cable television service. The discount does not apply to the satellite TV service Verizon markets from DirecTV. Growing Number of U.S. Households Drop Landline PhonesAs more and more consumers drop their traditional landline phone service, wireless providers like Verizon are restructuring the services they offer to include bundling discounts to the approximately 15 percent of U.S. households who use cell phones only. Verizon Bundle Discounts for Cell Phone CustomersThe Verizon bundle discount will apply to DSL service with downloads at 3 megabits per second, and to FiOS, or fiber-optic, broadband at up to 20 megabits per second. The fastest DSL plan, at 7 mbps, and the fastest FiOS, at 50 mbps, are not eligible for the bundle.
