AT&T U-Verse Launches in Birmingham

AT&T has launched its AT&T U-verse and AT&T High Speed Internet services in Birmingham, Alabama, and plans to expand these services to more homes in the Birmingham region in 2009. The deployment of AT&T U-verse is rapidly introducing competitive choice and next-generation services to consumers.

AT&T Offers 100 Percent IP-Based Television (IPTV)

AT&T’s U-verse TV and High Speed Internet services are delivered over the company's advanced Internet Protocol (IP) network which allow for feature-rich services with advanced capabilities. IP technology combines a customer’s television, broadband, and wireless services — all on one bill — with unique features that provide a new level of integration, convenience, and control.

AT&T U-verse TV Features More Than 75 HD Channels

Where available, AT&T U-verse TV offerings include: a selection of TV packages with 100 percent digital programming featuring up to 350 channels, including digital music, local, movie, and sports programming, as well as premium Spanish-language and international packages.

All packages include HD-capable equipment, and most packages include an HD-capable digital video recorder (DVR); AT&T U-verse Total Home DVR, which allows recording standard or high definition programs from a single DVR on any connected TV in a home; and an extensive lineup of more than 75 HD channels. U-verse TV supports both 720p and 1080i formats; and the ability to set a DVR from any location and record up to four programs at once.

AT&T U-verse High-Speed Internet with More Bandwidth and 18 Mbps Speeds

AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet offers more bandwidth and faster available speeds and includes five package options: Max 18 with downstream speeds up to 18.0 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.5 Mbps; Max: with downstream speeds up to 10.0 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.5 Mbps; Elite with downstream speeds up to 6.0 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.0 Mbps; Pro with downstream speeds up to 3.0 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.0 Mbps; and Express with downstream speeds up to 1.5 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.0 Mbps.

All AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet packages include wireless home networking at no extra cost, and access to the nation's largest Wi-Fi network with free unlimited connectivity at more than 17,000 hot spot locations.
