AT&T to Provide Wi-Fi for 600 Motel 6 Hotels

AT&T has announced it will provide Wi-Fi to more than 600 Motel 6 hotels. The $9 million contract with Accor North America and its Motel 6 brand includes a three-year agreement under which AT&T will provide Managed Internet Service (MIS) and firewall and router implementation services which will give hotel guests access to Wi-Fi connectivity.

AT&T Managed Internet Service Provides High-Speed Wi-Fi Access

AT&T MIS provides high speed access and security features with managed hardware and software, routing capability, and continuous performance monitoring of Internet Protocol (IP) services on its OC-192/OC-48 IP backbone. The AT&T network is scalable which will allow Accor NA the ability to customize its network services to expand and increase to higher levels of bandwidth

AT&T Wi-Fi Service in Motel 6 for Summer Travel Season

Adrian M. Butler, vice president of telecommunications and support service for Accor North America said, "AT&T's network upgrade enabled us to provide new and enhanced capabilities for our hotels, including our e-procurement system performance, e-learning tools, and guest services such as Wi-Fi. And the implementation has been completed so that we are ready for the busy summer travel season."

AT&T Wi-Fi Allows Motel 6 Guests a Multimedia Experience

Recently, Accor NA announced the Motel 6 "Phoenix" prototype featuring an entertainment unit which includes a cubby for personal items and a multimedia panel for guests to plug in their MP3 players, CD players, and laptop computers allowing them to listen to their favorite music or use the flat-screen TV as their computer monitor while accessing Wi-Fi Internet access in their room.
