Bright House Networks Launches PowerBoost in Bakersfield, CA

November 17, 2008

By Mike Peters

Bright House has announced the launch of PowerBoost technology to its Road Runner Turbo customers in Bakersfield, CA. PowerBoost, available exclusively from Bright House, allows Internet users to experience significantly faster download speeds at no additional charge.

"We are very excited to be delivering this free, time-saving feature to our Road Runner Turbo customers, said Joe Schoenstein, president of Bright House Networks, Bakersfield division. "PowerBoost will jumpstart a large file download reducing overall download time, and give users more time to enjoy the multitude of media available online, including that made available through RoadRunner.com. Our goal is to provide customers with quality service and with products that continue to make their lives easier."

Bright House PowerBoost Offers Speeds up to 22 Mbps

The speed provided by PowerBoost is available to customers who subscribe to Road Runner at a specific level. For example, Road Runner Turbo customers with a current speed of up to 15 Mbps will now enjoy PowerBoost speeds up to 22 Mbps. Once a PowerBoost is completed, a download in progress will continue at the normal speed.

No file downloads are required for activation. The PowerBoost technology works with today's compatible cable modems, as well as home networking gateways and voice eMTAs (combination high-speed Internet modems and phone adapters).
