Comcast to Debut Usage Meter

Comcast has released a Usage Meter as broadband household usage continues to spiral nationwide. Comcast customers in Portland, Oregon will get to preview the meter which will display the user's broadband usage on a per Gigabyte basis across a calendar month. The current Comcast Internet usage cap is 250 GB, while the average use is 2-4 GB per month.

After a short period, the Usage Meter will be rolled out nationwide. There is no word on whether Comcast plans on charging customers for per-byte overage usage.
