Cox 11 to present military homecoming special
May 1, 2009
Cox Communications, the fourth-largest cable provider in the U.S., announced that Cox 11 in Hampton Roads, Virginia will present a documentary film this month honoring the return of service men and women from the U.S. Armed Forces.
Homecoming: A Cox Video Diary, which will premiere Sunday, May 10 at 8 p.m. on Cox 11, is a "snapshot of the emotional reunion between local military personnel and their loved ones," the company said.
"Cox is proud to present this special diary as our way of paying tribute to our military and their families for their honorable service to our country," said Leigh Woisard, vice president of public affairs for Cox Hampton Roads. "Being away from their families is a huge sacrifice they make and we would like to recognize this."
Homecoming documents the story the long separation from loved ones of area military personnel serving overseas. Over several weeks, Cox 11 crews filmed the reunion of service members at the dock, on the flight line and at local bases.
The Homecoming documentary will run every weekend in May. In Hampton Roads, Cox has more than 400,000 basic cable subscribers. Cox subscribers should check their local listings for dates and times.
