Cox receives broadband customer value award
August 20, 2009
Amid news of dipping broadband subscribers last quarter, one broadband internet provider is being recognized for providing customer value. Cox Communications announced it has received the 2009 North American Broadband Customer Value Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan.
Frost & Sullivan, a market research company, recognized Cox's broadband internet service for providing the "most economical and secure packages" for high speed internet customers.
The Frost & Sullivan Award is based on how broadband providers fare on criteria important to customers, including responsiveness to customer needs, enhanced quality and reliability of products and technological innovation and leadership.
"Given the current economic environment, many customers are price sensitive but still want the latest features, and Cox delivers both," said Gina Villanueva, research analyst for Frost & Sullivan.
Cox's variety of internet options for customers range from the Economy/Starter package to Ultimate Internet - Cox's DOCSIS 3.0-based service with download speeds up to 50 Mbps, which is is expected to be available to more than two-thirds of the Cox footprint by the end of 2010.
In recognizing Cox, the firm noted that Cox customers also get access to value-added features such as the free Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee.
