Friends and family plan now includes businesses
March 12, 2009
Verizon Wireless is introducing a new Friends & Family plan for business on March 15 to help companies control their wireless spending.
Friends & family, the popular wireless plan for consumers, allows individuals to create a calling group to which in-network calls do not cost minutes. In offering that option to businesses, minutes used when placing or receiving calls from anyone in the calling group are considered Mobile to Mobile calls and do not count against the business' plan minutes, the company said.
Businesses can also include the landline or wireless numbers of colleagues, clients and vendors who have yet to switch to Verizon Wireless and they can edit their group list as many times as they choose.
Rob Miller, vice president of marketing for Verizon Wireless, said the plan gives businesses the flexibility to create their own calling plan.
Beginning March 15, Friends & Family for Business will be available on My Business or Verizon Enterprise Center for new business customers or customers who switch to a qualified plan.
Account administrators for businesses with existing qualified plans will receive an email when this service has been added to their account, the company said.
