The convergence of digital entertainment means movie studios and telecommunications carriers are lining up to get hip to the gaming industry, which holds the LA Games Conference in Los Angeles on April 28th and 29th.
Representatives of major television and film studios will discuss how they navigate the new entertainment landscape and gaming companies will show the latest in console, mobile, online and PC gaming, according to Digital Media Wire.
Some of the hot topics of the trade show will be iPhone and mobile gaming, "cloud gaming" and what it means for the traditional gaming business and how traditional media companies can incorporate gaming into their business model.
Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese and CEO of uWink, will be one of the show's featured presenters.
Bushnell is legendary in the computer gaming world for essentially creating the gaming console and he "gave Steve Jobs his first real job and paved the way for a generation of Silicon Valley companies," Digital media Wire said in its announcement.
Other presenters at the show will include representatives from new media and technology companies, as well as key players in the mobile gaming, new media and interactive entertainment business.
