Mobile games coming based on Pandorum movie
April 9, 2009
Starz Media and Artificial Life announced that they will co-create mobile gaming applications inspired by the upcoming sci-fi horror movie Pandorum, from the makers of the popular Resident Evil film franchise.
Pandorum presents the story of two crew members, played by Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster, who wake up on an abandoned spacecraft with no idea who they are, how long they've been asleep, or what their mission is.
Programming production and distribution company Starz Media and mobile broadband company Artificial Life said the mobile games, which can be played on any cell phone, smartphone or other device with wireless high speed internet, will be based on the intense action-packed storylines in the movie.
Marc DeBevoise, senior vice president of digital media for Starz Media, said the mobile gaming category has recently exploded with cutting edge devices and technologies.
"We are in a strong position to extend our properties onto these platforms and use the games symbiotically - with opportunities to both generate and receive marketing benefits as the programming and games reach the marketplace," DeBevoise said.
