Free Wireless Internet Access in Cincinnati with Time Warner Cable

Time Warner Road Runner cable is rolling out an exciting new wireless Internet program in Cincinnati called Project Lily Pad. Time Warner is working with the non-profit organizations Lily Pad and Give Back Cincinnati to bring Cincinnati visitors and residents free, wireless high speed Road Runner Internet with this creative, collaborative and donation-driven effort.

How Does Project Lily Pad Work to Bring Free Wireless Internet to Cincinnati?

Project Lily Pad handles the technical and sponsorship details involved in creating a wireless hotspot at a predetermined Cincinnati location, called a “Lily Pad.” A potential Lily Pad location is recruited by Project Lily Pad wireless specialists, and subsequently surveyed to determine hardware and cost requirements involved in installing wireless Internet services in that location.

The surrounding community and Project Lily Pad work together with Time Warner Internet to identify a sponsor willing to cover installation costs in a tax-deductible donation. The process of turning a location into a Lily Pad is completed by a round of awareness raising marketing efforts, so residents of Cincinnati will be able to find and use the new Lily Pad to its full potential.

Why SupportTime Warner WiFi Access and Project Lily Pad?

Project Lily Pad was conceived by Give Back Cincinnati as one of many city-wide projects focused on attracting mobile business and creative professionals into the Cincinnati area. Attracting more technical professionals to the region will boost the Cincinnati economy, and free high speed wireless Internet also has many benefits to the community surrounding the Lily Pad.

Free wireless Internet facilitates local university research efforts, and improves the educational programs of under-represented communities that would otherwise not have access to the Internet. With free Time Warner high speed Wi-Fi access, local community officers, paramedics and other public servants can access critical, life saving information by simply driving into a Lily Pad location.

Time Warner Road Runner Internet is Committed to Community

Project Lily Pad is only one of many efforts Time Warner Internet is making to help build communities by providing the best, high speed wireless Internet to under-represented areas. With high speed wireless Internet from Time Warner, the community of Cincinnati, and many other cities to come, will be able to experience the benefit of the lightning-fast download speeds, and the convenience of wireless Internet.

Ubiquitous, high speed Internet access will help save lives and build urban communities in the future. Time Warner is marching in the front lines of this important and revolutionary movement to bring the latest communications technology to all Americans.
