Time Warner Cable has launched a multi-facted campaign on behalf of its customers to target unfair price demands by television programmers.
Programmers who operate broadcast and cable networks (and create television content) often call for price hikes when contracts come up for renewal. Oftentimes, the suggested price hike reflects as much as a 300% increase. Since cable companies such as Time Warner Cable are the ones to pass this additional cost to their customers, they end up taking the blame.
