Verizon Wireless releasing exclusive songs to BlackBerry Storm users
March 16, 2009
Rock singer Chris Cornell and hip-hop producer Timbaland will collaborate on a song that will be available first to BlackBerry Storm smartphone customers, Verizon Wireless announced.
The song, Stop Me, is the latest release in a series of exclusive song downloads available to Verizon Wireless customers on their BlackBerry Storms.
Cornell and Timbaland's Stop Me is the third song from Timbaland's exclusive Storm line-up. Other Timbaland re-mixes available to Verizon's BlackBerry Storm customers include Rehab performed by Rihanna and Tonight by the Jonas Brothers.
Songs from the program are available free for a limited time to Verizon Wireless customers using BlackBerry Storm smartphones. The songs will be available to all V CAST music customers later this spring.
"It's cool to be a part of the Verizon program because it can offer genuinely innovative ways of getting new music out to fans," Cornell said.
Cornell was a founding member of the Seattle grungegroup Soundgarden. Later in his career, Cornell joined with former members of Rage Against the Machine to form Audioslave, whose albums include "Audioslave," "Out of Exile" and "Revelations."
