Verizon DSL Maximum Connection Speed

Verizon DSL connection speeds are represented as the maximum downstream and upstream connection speeds. Downstream, or download, speed refers to the rate at which a computer receives data from the Internet, and will affect how long it takes to load a Web page or download a video. Upload or upstream speed refers to the rate at which a computer sends data to the Internet, and will affect how long it takes to send an e-mail or file. Verizon DSL gives customers a choice of speeds; up to 3 Mbps downstream and 768 Kbps upstream, or up to 768 Kbps downstream and 128 Kbps upstream.

Pricing Plans for Verizon DSL Internet Plans

Verizon DSL offers two pricing plans: customers may either sign a one-year agreement, or pay month-to-month. Savings on the one year agreement are significant, and customers signing a one-year plan receive a wired modem and the first month free in exchange for a loss of flexibility.

Verizon DSL Equipment

Verizon DSL customers choose between a wired modem, or a modem and wireless router. The wired modem is included in the one-year agreement pricing plan option, and allows one computer to connect to the Internet using an Ethernet cable. The modem and wireless router costs $15 with a one-year agreement, and will allow up to four computers to connect to the Internet connection wirelessly.
