A Word About Comcast Corporation

Comcast is the nation's largest cable provider with 21.3 million subscribers and is among the leaders with broadband Internet connection subscribers. The cable industry holds an estimated 70 percent share of the residential U.S. broadband subscriber base. Comcast Cable offers cable TV, high-speed Internet, and voice services. Comcast's merger with AT&T Broadband appears to be moving along more quickly than expected, as the newly integrated company predicts five million high-speed Internet customers by year end.

Comcast Cable reported revenue of $19 billion in 2004, a 10.4% increase over the same period in 2003. The company added more than 250,000 digital cable subscribers, bringing the total to 8.6 million. Comcast now has nearly 7 million cable Internet subscribers, increasing revenue for that market segment by almost 40 percent.

Comcast high speed Internet provides subscribers with up to seven e-mail accounts, networking capabilities for up to five devices, and up to 175 MB of information. Their “Home Networking” package includes a wireless router and the option to pay for additional IP addresses.
